Some
frequently asked questions and answers from our production
department.
1)
What kind of things determine the pricing for production?
Sign Production - quoting is based on primarily on the
size, material type and production method - vinyl, printing,
painted, etc.. We also have to consider the amount and
types of colours used, quantities and installation issues.
Printing
- generally based on amount of colours used, quantities,
size, paper stock / weight and any finishing details
(folds, cuts, etc.)
2)
What is the difference between digital printing and
offset printing?
Digital printing and offset printing have varying degrees
of quality depending on equipment. The major difference
is that digital printing usually is more expensive per
copy, but has no expensive plate or press setup costs,
as opposed to offset printing. It generally is cheaper
to do shorter print runs (under 2000 copies) using digital
printers and larger print runs (over 2000 copies) using
offset.
3)
How can we cut down on production costs?
Give us your budget and let us design something that
will achieve your marketing goals within your budget.
We can also look at complete packages, such as print
materials packaged with design, sign production, website,
video, etc...
4)
Are there any production restrictions we should be aware
of?
Due to the custom nature of this business, there are
always restrictions. Some of the more common ones come
from city bylaws regarding signs, distributors regarding
printed specs and quite often production quality restrictions
due to poorly provided file formats. These can always
be overcome by having us handle your project from start
to finish.
